Yes, “The Orville” is super funny and I agree, they are getting a little more serious in the last season/episodes and there is a clear link to Star Trek!
I’ve watched all season and can’t wait until the next season! I really liked it 
Discovery indeed had some flaws. The first episode was promising but then after that it went a little sideways.
Still very OK to watch, but not “Star Trek” the way I like it.
On that note: too many shows these days are going overboard with certain “hot topics” … and I’m not sure this is serving these “hot topics” any good. 
I’m not sure about the limitations of Amazon Prime, but maybe you know someone that has Amazon Prime?
